What the students are saying
When I arrived at Elefun I couldn’t speak Spanish at all. The following 6 weeks they taught me a lot and I had never made faster progress in any other language I learned before (French and English). Classes are fun and diverse and the teachers are all very helpful. I thought that their level of English was quite good. My teacher changed every week, which I thought was a good thing because this way I was able to get to know everyone. But if you had a wish or wanted to stay with a teacher the lady (Eliana) who does the class arrangements would consider your wish.
I just spent 5 weeks learning Spanish at Elefun and I am extremely happy to have chosen that school. The whole team is super friendly and professional (I had 4 different teachers, all great) and they will go above and beyond to help you thrive.
There is a relaxed, “big family” atmosphere at Elefun and their goal is to teach you the langage, but also the Colombian culture. They also have some integration activities which are great to meet fellow travelers.
The curriculum is well designed, classes are always well prepared with different types of activities and support (I took the 20h/week package), in small groups (we were 2 students in my group and I even had 2 weeks all by myself) and I progressed a lot!
The school is big enough to offer many activities but at the same time small enough so that you get acquainted with every one very fast. I felt right at home from day one and will definitely go back there to take more classes if I come back to Medellin.
I came to Elefun for a few weeks of spanish on my way through Medellin and stayed for 2-3 months because it was that good. The teachers and classes are amazing and you will really gain a lot of spanish in a short time. I had classes with almost all of the teachers and they are all well trained and experienced. The tours that they offer are amazing too and you will see parts of Colombia that the other tourists don’t get to see. Food tasting on Wednesday where you can experience some of the local fruits and street food during break. The staff at Elefun really make you feel at home and will help you every way they can to grasp the difficult spanish language. If you are interested in learning spanish and have some time in Medellin, i highly recommend Elefun. It’s in my favorite area of Medellin (Laureles/Estadio) and you won’t be surrounded by English, which can detract from your learning. Go!!!!!
